The 888 iPhone poker client used to offer single-table Sit & Go tournaments as well as standard cash games, but the recent update expanded this repertoire by giving players the ability to play multi-table tournaments on the go. The update is a part of the company’s “Play Different” campaign, which focuses on gaining the attention of recreational players and which contributed to the recent increase in 888's traffic, giving the site fourth place in the prestigious PokerScout popularity ranking with over 3,000 unique cash players during a 24 hour peak. “We continually strive to give our players the most entertaining, easy poker experience and now they have full access to more games and prizes while they are on the go,” said Inbal Lavi, vice president of the company.
The new application comes with a smoother interface, which allows the users to join tournaments using the tournament tickets they’ve collected. Players will be able to test this new functionality by entering series of $50,000 freerolls launched to celebrate the update. Each player will receive a single free ticket, but more can be won by completing additional challenges with the mobile app, which is available exclusively in Europe due to Apple’s strict anti-gambling policy.
